The session was focused around how Texas can improve and better the safety of workers and work conditions due to COVID-19, particularly small business and those working in the construction industry. The discussion included topics around broadband connectivity, reducing time for permits, civil liability protections, and more.

READ THE FULL ARTICLE J3 Company Completes Electrical and Taxiway Improvements for San Antonio International Airport11/12/2020 The City of San Antonio had planned a set of improvements at San Antonio International Airport in order to enhance airfield capacity and safety, and improve land use. J3 Company bid for the construction contract of the project titled Runway 12R Rehabilitation and Terminal Area Taxiway - Package 4. The scope of this project included the rehabilitation of the primary runway’s electrical systems including runway edge, runway centerline, and runway touchdown zone lighting systems, and the airfield electrical vault. The scope also includes the reconstruction of taxiways, which included grading, drainage, utilities, lighting, shoulders, signage, and markings. J3 Company successfully completed this $9.5 million project within the deadline. The authorities were extremely satisfied with the results and the work ethic displayed by J3 Company throughout the project. A project of this complexity required a very high level of collaboration and coordination in our own teams, with the client and with other suppliers. The trust and communication amongst our team members enabled us to deliver high-quality work within the stipulated time of 210 days. Over 50 employees of J3 Company worked to fulfil a variety of requirements, including 16-inch concrete demolition and removal, base and subgrade excavation, installation of cement-treated base, hot-mix asphalt, and 16-inch concrete pavement. We also delivered stormwater pollution prevention, site clearing, pavement markings, storm structures, underdrain systems, vegetation and electrical improvements. The electrical improvements included thousands of feet of conduit, removal and replacement of guidance signs, new sign foundations, removal and relocation of centerline lights, removal and reinstallation of edge lights and new base cans.
